Yes, I do love holidays — and I absolutely believe in the power of taking breaks to recharge. But I’m not the type to just lie on a beach and do nothing. For me, simply stepping out of the everyday hamster wheel is already a holiday.

Visiting my friend Herbert Menzer in his beautiful Kasbah on Lama Island in Keyna in February this year has been one of this recharging breaks. Together with Herbert we decided beforehand to bring an extra suitcase of collection pieces and jewelry in order to be able to do photographic project in this amazing surrounding.

And this is the result… together with the Italien photographer Monia Antonioli, who is has called Lamu her home for many years and the two wonderful local characters Jenipher and Kennedy, who we casted off the streets we did this great shooting.
